Explore the Garden Isle with Expert Birding Guides
If you’re looking for a great introduction to Kauai’s wildlife with short, casual walks along Kauai’s rugged west side, then we have you covered! Our adventures on this beautiful island will lead through the Waimea Canyon (sometimes termed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific) to a montane mesic forest in search of the iconic Hawaiian Honeycreepers – the vibrant ‘Anianiau, ‘Apapane, and Kaua’i ‘Amakihi. The ‘Anianiau and Kauai Amakihi are exclusive to this island, offering a rare chance to see these endemic species if we’re lucky. In addition to the Honeycreepers, we’ll be on the lookout for the Kauaʻi ʻElepaio, a monarch flycatcher, another species endemic to Kauai. Our journeys don’t end in the rainforest. We’ll also explore Kauai’s picturesque coastlines, seeking endangered water birds.
Our expert-guided tour is tailored for both novice and experienced birders, allowing you to search for Kauaʻi’s remaining endemic forest birds and pick up plenty of knowledge along the way. We also offer custom tours of this island if you want to plan your ideal birding experience with our team.
