Our adventures on this beautiful island will lead through the Waimea Canyon (sometimes termed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific) to a montane mesic forest in search of the iconic Hawaiian Honeycreepers – the vibrant ‘Anianiau, ‘Apapane, and Kaua’i ‘Amakihi. The ‘Anianiau and Kauai Amakihi are exclusive to this island, offering a rare chance to see these endemic species if we’re lucky. In addition to the Honeycreepers, we’ll be on the lookout for the Kauaʻi ʻElepaio, a monarch flycatcher, another species endemic to Kauai. Our journeys don’t end in the rainforest. We’ll also explore Kauai’s picturesque coastlines, seeking endangered water birds.
