Oahu North Shore Birding Excursion

November-May: 7am-12pm

Experience the serenity of Oahu’s North Shore in pursuit of the impressive Laysan Albatross and the sought-after Bristle-thighed Curlew. We will cruise along Oahu’s picturesque windward coastline for up close encounters of wintering shorebirds and endemic water birds, search for brightly colored forest birds and gaudy finches on the edge of beautiful botanical gardens and then journey to the western most point of the island for our seabird quest. This half day trip is a great introduction to Oahu’s visiting birds that involves short, casual walks, for the birder and non-birder alike, with secluded beaches and can include incidental big waves, sea turtles, and monk seals.

Highlight Target Species

Laysan Albatross, Bristle-thighed Curlew, Wandering Tattler, Hawaiian Coot, Hawaiian Stilt, Saffron Finch

“We birded the whole island, changing from forest birds to sea birds. It was a great tour and really nice to get out of the city. I was able to see plenty of species too! Highly recommend!”
