Recommendations

Don’t plan on wearing warm clothes for a pelagic trip out of Kona, it can actually be quite warm and sun protection is essential. We advise lightweight long pants, lightweight long sleeves, hat, closed toed shoes, camera, binoculars, sun screen, quick dry clothing, lightweight rain gear, sea sickness prevention medication, and a good breakfast. Conditions are generally calm but can get moderately rough, especially if we are able to get you over 25 miles offshore. You must have decent balance and an ability to steady yourself on a moving boat if you plan to take that trip.

Cancellation

There is a 48-hour cancelation policy for all daily tours. If you cancel prior to 48 hours of the tour, you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled trip departure, no refund fees will be provided.
No shows are responsible for 100% of trip fees.

Whether you envision casually cruising the coastline in search of seabirds, chasing after endemic forest birds, exploring local hot spots, or all of the above. I am dedicated to providing customized excursions to create your ultimate Hawaii birding experience.

My promise on every eco-tour is to ensure that each guest is having a great time while learning about Hawaii’s alluring flora and fauna. When I’m not guiding I am proud to be involved in local avian conservation initiatives. “We birded the whole island, changing from forest birds to sea birds. It was a great tour and really nice to get out of the city. I was able to see plenty of species too! Highly recommend!”

Mandy is happy to collaborate with local experts and an experienced local captain to provide you with your best chances of seeing Hawaii’s sought-after sea birds and incidental cetaceans. We will enjoy birding from a coast guard certified vessel. There are plenty of great onboard viewing areas, a bathroom, and a variety of seating options.
